For the Postbank it takes ages to cash my check. Since I HATE HATE HATE the Rabobank(quashe knows:-))) I use the ABN amro. They rock for me. First of all, they are very close to my house(1 minute) second, when I give them a check today, I have it on my account over 2 days. Well that is pretty fast :-)

As far as ING, I can't tell you much about them, but you might wanna try FORTIS, I heard they are increasing and aiming on new companies.

I use the SNS Bank.
They might be small but it's a very personal bank and I always get first class service.
They are expanding but not sure if they are in Amsterdam tho.

Yeah also a good bank...What do they charge per check? @ABN I pay 10.40 euro per check(but it's in my account within 2 days)

I pay 0.1% of the check amount with a minimum of 7 euro and 6 euro extra to get the money upfront.

ABN Amro is the shiznit. I've been using it for a long time and I've never had problems with them.

They also process the checks very fast. I mostly get my cash in like 3-5 days. It's excellent.

I use ABN Amro, they charge me 7 euro per check plus a few euro for processing. They are ok, usually after asking several people the desktop chicks get the checks processed within a week or so. I also reicently opened an account at Citibank.com though, plan on keeping a balance there. As far as I know a wire transfer from the US to NL shouldn't cost more than the processing fee for an international check.

I won't annoy you with how good the ABN is, since you probably won't use it anyway... but I feel your pain with the fucking Rabo, those fuckers were so friendly to close my account down. they told me they didn't want to be associated with porn. so I told them to close all my accounts, well they weren't so happy with that, but well...fuck them...

I have 2 banking accounts at the moment.

Postbank: Cash my cheques in roughly 3 to 4 weeks, plus costs me ?9,40

ABN Amro: Never tried them for cheques, but their personal touch is great.

I needed a second banking account for several reasons. At first i went to the Rabobank. They gave me a huge load of bullshit (you need a total-solution plan here, we don't want customers who only have one account). Well, i said and walked to the ABN Amro (exactly a 12 second walk), told them the exact same thing. To my surprise they gave me coffee, and got me up and running in 15 minutes..

No more Rabobank for me! Rabobank: You can go suck a big fucking nut!

They wanted to charge me 35 euro per check if I wanted to stay. I told those 2 fuckers that they were crazy and that I would move ALL my shit to another bank. They had never reviewed my profile before the appointment. These were the 2 biggest dombo's I have ever met at a bank
