People who work in technology always forget that the largest consumers are every day joes who just wanna surf for porn, cars, recipes, whatever. They don't care about Microsoft, google, linux etc. They don't know or care that everyone uses IE. Hell, to most people IE *IS* the Internet. They don't call it "Internet Explorer" they just refer to it as "The Internet".
