    why are US laws so screwed up about sex/kids below the age of 18?

    Ok so no pics/videos of sex provoking kids below the age of 18. 100% agreeable law, but what about the stories people write about incest or kids having sex. It sickens me!! I dont want to read about incest crap! And people that get off on this shit.

    I believe there should be laws against stories/pics/videos etc.

              They should also make it against the law for movies to show any illegal activity like murder, drug use, and driving over 55 miles per hour. Any rap song with lyrics that deal with anything immoral should be outlawed as well. They should also put artists in jail if they create art that is offensive to anyone.

              The government needs to find a way to stop people from thinking about bad things!

                      If you attempt to suppress the expression of a thought, it may be expressed in other ways. I would rather people write stories than act on their fantasies, for lack of other methods of expression.

                                                  I agree that the stories are sick and pictures/movies are even sicker. But I would rather have the sick fucks reading about it, rather then looking at pictures.

                                                      Murder is worse than child abuse, so why should people be able to make fictional movies and books with murder in them, but not child abuse?

                                                          Reading about it would actually hahahahaha a deeper mental picture, and it'd last much longer considering the actions have been spelled out. If you see an image, it's in your head for a little while, but unless it's incredibly memorable, it's going to be bombarded with other imagery until it's blurred or near forgotten.

                                                          I think both are incredibly serious and they need to be dealt with accordingly. People take what is written to heart many times.

                                                              Because so many people (it seems...?) have been subject to sexual abuse as kids. It means there are plenty of people around that are extremely emotional about it and they can presure the rest of us (non-victims). Not many murder victims survive, on the other hand....

                                                                      If you ban stories of incest, then what is stopping you from banning real-life experiences. There are support groups with people who tell their experiences, be they good or bad.

                                                                          Just one thing: I don't agree with guns, but that's just me. In Australia, certain weapons are banned (like some martial arts weapons), but not guns. I'd like them to ban guns.

                                                                              anyone ever see that movie "Kids" a few years ago?

                                                                              all the actors in it were all under 16, showed them doing drugs, having sex, spreading AIDS, etc..

                                                                              this was acceptable for the movies. That one kid even had sex with that girl while she was sleeping.

                                                                              I guess the movie was considered "artistic" was somewhat shocking, especially to be released in the US
