Not picking on you- perhaps I simply expect more from a smart woman than from the kiddies here that live in their mom's sewing room ;-)
Flashy bimbos sell newspapers, that is a fact of life, and there's no escaping it.
Rarely does a no-name housewife being abused hit the news; whether it be because they aren't aware of the situation, or to protect the privacy of the victim and her family.
Since Ms Hilton, as a public figure has essentially given up all rights and expectations of privacy, her story is apparently fair game to the press. Not only will it sell newspapers, but it does indeed reinforce the idea of violence being unacceptable. That constant reinforcement is what helps change society.
Personally, I'll take whatever we can get to make people realize that it's unacceptable; whether it be a bimbo, or a battered housewife- it all contributes to changing society in a positive way.
