My Opinion On 2003 Highlights. Share Yours Here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well well the year is almost over and I gotta say a lot has happened this year. I thought it would be a good idea to summarize everything up a bit.
Here we go:
ACACIA- I think they will have their moment but this patent will really not be effective in the end as it is plain bullshit. If they are making TGP owners pay for a license fee so should google, yahoo, and all the other major sites and I really don't think it will go through.
VISA- I think their rules are becoming tougher and tougher and so I am sure there are a few people/companies that are working on some alternatives and from what I have seen it is looking good so far.
CAN-SPAM-ACT- Will it stop people from spamming? of course not! Just a way to scare off the newbies and not that I am for spamming but the big boys will keep on spamming and they are the ones that bring in most of the spam you get.
PARIS HILTON SEX TAPE- Those that were smart definitely have and are still profiting from it. Through search engine traffic or any other kind especially spam. The one guy that is profiting the most from it as we all know is ruining this business with his hidden charges. He surely doesn't give a shit because he has already made his millions but in the long-run it will hurt this industry as a whole when he is charging the members $200 per signup. Those that have sent their traffic to other celeb sites still end up with big profit and thats what counts but at least don't fuck the person with a $200 bill.
TGPs- Many say that it is a way of giving away lots and lots of free porn. Although that is true whoever keeps bitching about it is in the wrong business. If you know how to take advantage of such traffic you'll be quiet successful and believe me it is not that hard. It certainly takes time but in the end you'll see a great benefit from all the free porn.
Dialers- As we all know they are not what they used to be. Is there still money in dialers? I think so. Is it easy to make money with dialers? not as easy as it used to be but if you use a good geo-targetting script and target the countries that peform poorly with credit-card sponsors or simply do not peform at all then it is wise to send that traffic to a dialer. Other than that if you have a lot of traffic from a certain country that doesn't perform and by a lot I mean few hundred thousand per day towards the millions then I think it can be quiet profitable using the right dialer company or maybe even your own.
10DollarsCash/DiscountPassBucks- Great model, great performance, unique and innovative. I truly think these 2 programs have prooven to be experienced in the field of keeping both the surfer and webmaster happy. This doesn't mean that other programs don't, but simply shows how innovative they are.
Shaver of the year- As we all know this goes to PIBcash. We all know it still goes on with some sponsors for sure. IF we all don't expect such high payout rate then the shaving would really not be so high or not there at all. Not everyone knows about PIBcash shaving yet so this just shows you that before you start promoting a program first do some research on it on the boards or on resources sites or simply by asking other webmasters if they know anything.
Google IPO- I see it as either being a REALLY good thing or REALLY bad thing. It may help them grow as a company even bigger than they already are or simply destroy everything.
To all the newbies: If you want to make it big in this business be smart, definitely confident and be one step ahead of everybody else! that's what really makes things work!
I am sure everyone has their own opinion on all of these things but these are just my point of view on things and feel free to share any highlights of the year in this thread so people that have been away from the biz or are new to it will know what is going on and what they are getting themselves into.
