How Can People Handle Sending Their Kids Off To War?

I just dropped off and said goodbye to my young son whose going on a 1 week caribbean cruise with my ex-wife and just doing that gets me emotional and worried to death.

I can't imagine what it must be like to send your precious kids off to war knowing they might not come back and you won't see them for at a least a year.

That's got to be an absolute heart piercing, nerve wracking ordeal everyday til they return safely.

God bless anyone of you guys with kids in the armed services. I don't know how you handle it.

Don't expect many replies- the average age here is between 14 and 16. - serious:

Why don't we send the old ones first and put in the stronger/younger ones if we need to do that.

I think that is a good plan.?

they didn't grow up with emotions, they grow up to survive the family.

          I must be old

My parents never had a son, however I know how we all were hardbroken when my classmate and neighbor went to Vietnam and never came back.

My sons are not in the Military but I know it would worry me terrible.
