I love it.
It's far from being boring.

I assume you can not golf considering you tried it only once. You actually have to work to learn play this game which is nice. It's not like soccer which every moron can play. What does it take to kick a ball?

Once you are able to play decent it's fucking great.

Played on the golf team in high school...used to play like 27-36 holes 3-4 x's a week...loved it.

However I have grown too fat and it's fucked up my swing entirely...but I still do have a mean short game.

Adore the game, nothing like the sound of a ping driver as you launch the ball 300+ yds .. walking around, taking your time is the perfect relaxation.

I got a shitty driver which makes me do around 225 MAX

I have tried all of them, I still can't beat the feel of the older Ping I/3, it's just a question of trying them all out in a driving range/shop to find out the feel of them. It's not about hitting it hard it's all about the swing, I never hit the ball hard and it flies. Spending 500+ on a Driver is not worth it unless you are really good and it feels right.. you could spend 100 on a second hand one and it will be the best purchase you have ever made, try them all out and see which one feels right to you.
