They don't realize it themselves. Everyone seems to think they need to look perfect. Also perfection comes out of TV most of the time. I'm not surprised people I've met from all over the world joke about americans getting nosejobs or boobs as birthday presents. When was the last time you saw average looking people in TV series or movies?
In finland the actors are fat and ugly, but can act. I prefer it that way.. too bad our movies suck otherwise
