But I also remember the days of Civilization and Colonization *sigh* Hour after hour....day after day... problems remembering what day it is, and what time of the day/night :p
I don't dare to play games anymore, it's too addictive, and I don't have the time to get addicted lol...

I had a game on my computer called Driver and I swear it was the most bad-ass driving game I've ever seen. Perfectly realistic in every way, and you can go drive through entire cities destroying your car, and other cars... and trying to get away from some psycho that keeps trying to run you off the road. Good shit. Kinda reminds me of real life
Age of Kings by far.. played that soo much online back in the days... and yes i have the same then SandraWang.. dont wanna get into games to much nowadays cause i dont have the time to get addicted to them.
Settlers 2 was good too.. but thats like ages ago..

Driver was good but too short; somebody recommended morrowind to me, but I have a life these days....
Games I used to love and play for hours as a kid - Ghosts and Goblins - Outrun - Attic Attack (who remembers any of these...) - Green Beret.... Streetfighter 2 and of course the best game ever made - Super Mario Cart on the SNES.

For those that don't know: Morrowind is a 3d rpg in a HUGE world which gives you almost complete freedom and extremely non-lineair gameplay.
Edit: you can get a full "demo" on kazaa
Also comes free with the purchase of most GeForce IV cards =) I think it's bundled with some of the more recent creative sound cards too.
The game was good in theory but had some serious issues. If it wasn't for the modding capabilities in that game I would have tossed it long ago...pretty sad when the user community needs to patch the game instead of the developers =)
As for me, Everqust is still the most addictive game for me...that and the Rainbow Six collection of FPS.

Archon, damn I totally forgot about that game....that was back in the old days when real thought got put into the games =) They've made sequels since haven't they?
civilisation 3
counter-strike until they started to make this game a total crap
neverwinter night
the sims (after 6-7 hours, throwed the game in the garbage, fearing becoming addicted)
and recently
Knights of the Old Republic

Civilization...still one of the few games I return to now and then and still loose a day out of my life. I'm too old for the real time stuff, I need turn based.
What?! No Wolfenstein (the original) and Leisure Suit Larry?!?

High Heat baseball, probabely because i made HHfronoffice, an utility that goes with it. 4-5 years of my life into that game to test the software, etc...I also play it regularely the year around since 2001.
I think the game that did addicted me the most was Half-Life, not only because of the game itself, but also because of the free mods.

Everquest ! I was hooked on that game for over a year and a half STRAIGHT. It was my obsession. What was worse is that the game is soooo damn repetative, but it still draws you in, you crave leveling your character and you can't stay away, ha ha ha.
I've been burned out on it for a while now, but in a few months Everquest 2 will be out and I'll be stuck on that all over again.

That game is evil. I lost a month of work to it. I finished it though, right to the end. Make sure you stay away from the game of the year edition on the Xbox. Adds hundreds of hours of gameplay.
