I feel the same, I miss Christmas being what it used to be when it was such a big deal. At the time I would complain of the work and the hassle and all that other stuff, but be damned, now that it is gone, it just doesn't feel like Christmas.
Since my mom passed away none of my siblings will speak to me (that is what happens when you are made executor of the will) and with just the husband and kids around, you open presents and that is about it. The kids and hubby are all off doing their own thing in the house which leaves me with nothing to do but cook a huge dinner that will take me all day to make and will take no more than 10 minutes for them to eat.
Right now I'm thinking of that old song "You don't know what you got till it's gone" Ain't that the truth!Comment

It makes me miss my own childhood watching my 9 year old open his gifts.
My dad died 16 years ago suddenly at the young age of 58. I miss him especially on this holiday.
Life goes so very fast as you get older.
