As for ICS, no real surprise after some of the plain ass stupid stuff posted on this forum, that they target Lens. Will be interesting to see how many settle.
Threads could have been closed if there was a concern

I thought maybe you were just busy fighting with some of the geniuses over on the Yahoo board.
I still strongly believe that IMPA needs to get some press releases out there so that investors know both sides and to make sure that people being threatened know there are options other than signing.

Hi,
ClubJenna.com is owned by CJI Digital
which is Jenna and Jay's corp
Hustler and clubjenna put out jennaxxx.com
that must be what you are thinking about
as for the lawsuit
I think we are fine
I'm not the webmaster
I do marketing and support
I spoke to Jay today
I'm not worried
Acacia is getting good advice, I am sure they have some "consultants" helping out a lot, giving them inside information about the industry.
I bet that at least 5 of the 6 will settle.

Here's one for you conspiracy theorists.... what if Acacia donated money to Bush's re-election campaign...and this DMT patent is being used to further Bush's agenda?
Berman said in many articles that the Adult Industry was not singled out.. "someone had to be first"... is what many have said...
But let's see.. class action lawsuit proposal for Adult Industry companies...
so...people who have digitized audio/video that is sex related is different than say a video clip seen on some mainstream website?
Shouldn't EVERY website that has audio/video be thrown into one mother-of-all-class-action lawsuit?

Fight the Theories on Conspiracies!
FTP I have agreed with most of your posistions, but pandering to the anti-Bush crowd with stupid conspiracies is beneath you and serves no purpose.
The reason Acacia went after adult is the fact they thought we would not fight, and it would be easier to win agains "evil pornographers" with a judge and jury.
I thought you were trying to clear up rumors, and get the facts out, not start stupid conspiracy theories!

I KNOW you are not serious, but this is GFY.... lot of people beleive all kinds of foolish things.
I have already seen a few posts responding the Bush owning 51%....

I think what happens with webpower will be an indication of the future.
Webpower IS video streaming, billing about $250k a day...
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Acacia's patent on prerecorded only? I know webpower has some prerecorded video's but it is by far not what makes them the most money.
With the list of companies on this hit list I would say this is going to be a big one in how this whole Acacia thing swings. There is some fighting power in those companies alone, much less combined. Let's just hope they decide to fight to the death.
"I try to make a habit of bouncing my eyes up to the face of a beautiful woman, and often repeat “not mine” in my head or even verbally. She’s not mine. God has her set aside. She’s not mine. She’s His little girl, and she needs me to fight for her by keeping my eyes where they should be."

I'm no expert either, but I'm under the assumption that their "patent" covers all forms of video streaming, live or not.
Hustler has some seriously deep pockets and settled, which kind of worries me about webpower... Who knows anymore..

Acacia's advertised terms would put a serious hurt on webpowers profit margins. You have to figure, they gross a shitload but also pay high $$$ to webmasters and half to the girls. On some add on stuff for cam girls they pay out 80 to 90% I believe. No fucking way they are going to volunteer to pay a percentage of gross on that. I'm hoping Acacia just put the nail in their own coffin with this list of defendants.

"administration fee - which a licensee will be required to pay only once - will be $500 for the entire month of January 2004. From Feb. 1-29, it will be $750; from March 1-31, $1,000; from April 1-30, $1,250; from May 1-31, $1,500; from June 1-30, $1,750; and, from July 1-31, $2,000."
And if you order now, we'll double your order and give you 2 licenses for the price of 1. We'll even throw in a bread cutting knife...industructible and will stay sharper longer than our patent's life.
By ordering now, you get the lower administrative fee, the extra license (to give to a friend who we haven't contacted), the bread knife and our world famous no-refund-upon-patent-invalidation policy..... call now..
A lawsuit would be an indication that the companies were unresponsive to Acacia's original licensing threats/requests. I'm very interested to see what happens with Webpower as well.
They have infinitely more money than Acacia, and there is no way they will go for the licensing fee based on gross sales.
Right now, while everyone is getting their panties in a wad over this, offshore hosting business models are being devised that are outside the reach of any acacia patent.
models are being devised that are outside the reach of any acacia patent...
Do these "models" also cover getting any American citizen that uses them, new citizenship to another country? As long as someone holds US papers they are liable to US law.

This is true of individuals but not always of corporations based in another country.
If you are an American and you own stock in a company based in the EU, you will not get into trouble if that company breaks the laws or regulations of the U.S. In fact, most U.S. companies do not follow the laws of every other country in the world.
There are exceptions where you could get into trouble, but those are usually when the U.S. government really wants to make an example of someone, and Acacia is not the U.S. government.

Speculatively, I wouldn't be surprised if the LFD deal wasn't a stock scam. They didn't put up a fight, their licensing fees are nothing, and the stock rose greatly on the news. I'm sure anyone who knew about this deal before it was announced could have made a killing..

people would say the same about Hustler etc.... they bowed down.. who says these others wont?
Originally posted by rooster hustler didnt bow down they welcomed acacia with open arms for business reasons.
They have 20 times the money of all the impai defendents combined. Im sure they could have put up a defense.
Why should they?
Are affiliates leaving them in droves, are boards refusing to take their ads, how have they suffered by signing?
You are relying on a business man to do what is morally right, when the easy option is financially right. Make the signing of a license finacially bad and they will think twice.
Who here has stopped doing business with a licensee?
