My husband and I have each other and that's pretty much it except for the cats and the dogs. I have no more blood relatives and his are on the other side of the country.
But I'm still happy. This year started out in quiet desperation and is ending in jubilant overtones of success!

my wife, 7 month old daughter and I are spending christmas alone this year, just like we spent thanksgiving alone. her family flipped when we got married, flipped so bad we had to get a restraining order. her brother ended up coming to my moms house and throwing a brick through her car window, and my mom blames it on my wife, so thats why we dont spend holidays with my family. its very depressing not having a baby sitter, not having family and not being able to do things on our daughters first christmas.

I have to drop my son at my ex's house later in the afternoon. The part I hate about divorce the most. Shuffling my son around on holidays. It really feels weird, cause you go from joy and opening gifts in the morning to being quiet and alone in the afternoon. I hate it with a passion.
But I don't mind being alone and going over to more friend's houses later tonight anyway.
