How to get a refund through Paypal?

What's the process for getting a refund on a payment or disputing charges made through Paypal?

Payment was made for services (to a person on GFY) where there was no evidence the job was ever even started, let alone completed. 3 months go by and still nothing.

Payment was funded mostly through a credit card along with a little bit that was sitting in my account.

Their website doesn't make it too clear where to start.

Obviously I can't just charge back on my credit card or it would screw up my Paypal account. Am I shit out of luck?

I'm sure there's been a few people here that have gone through this already. Any tips would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Thanks. I filled out their buyer complaint form anyway. Since the transaction was completed more than 30 days ago it says they won't investigate.

Doesn't sound like they will do much.

        Oh well, live and learn.

PayPal isn't going to help you after the 30 days. So why not use the power of gfy and Name the scammer here and now. You have a better chance of resolving this issue here (since it's a gfyer) than with Pay Pal.

I did that once already. Doesn't do much good when they've already stopped posting here.

He posted has "Calm". Did business as "nxventures". Sounds like he might be having legitimate personal troubles, but quite frankly, that's not my problem.

Someone else from here said they have unpaid debts from him as well.

dude call your credit card company and tell them the payment for the service (whether it was through PayPal or not) was made but you never received it. They will take care of it... you can request refunds to up to 6 months.

                Hope this helps!

evildick: hit me up on icq 46762719. I've had the exact same thing (someone from GFY would do some stuff for me, 1,5 month passed, still nothing), and i called my creditcard company and they explained me how to do a chargeback on paypal.

I've heard of people doing chargebacks on their credit card even though they paid through PayPal. They said they got their money back and the person that they orginally paid, was deducted the amount of the chargeback. Rather this is all true or not, I don't know, but try a chargeback and see what happens. What is it going to hurt.

polish_aristocrat, he posted under the nick "Calm". He hasn't posted here for a while now.

Thanks for the info guys, I will talk to my bank and see what they have to say. I assumed if I charged back I might lose my Paypal account or something like that.

I'm leaving for the bank right now.

A chargeback is the only way you will see your money again. Pay Pal are a bunch of idiots. I lost $500 in the same way. I closed down my Pay Pal account, i dont like those fools having access to my money even a sub account.
