I haven't tried to use it online yet, but I received the Visa Electron Card four days ago and it is AWESOME! I didn't use to pay for something, just to withdraw $50 to test it out. I have over $4k to receive from this guy, and if epassporte didn't work I would be fucked because I can't withdraw money with paypal.
Everyone at ePassporte is helpful as well. Thank you guys!
When I have more money in my epassporte account I will test it online and as visa electron.
But I'm VERY happy with it.
Good luck finding somewhere to buy the gift to your wife!

We offer Epassporte as a payment option, it sucks.
People rarely use it for more than $50, we get a lot never make a payment and ask for another method.
Thankfully it's less the 5% of out income. Any one got a better suggestion for B to B?Comment

My understanding is the Visa Electron card is for ATM withdrawels only and the Virtual Visa is for online transactions. If your trying to use the Visa Electron card for purchase it probably won't work. I think I have this right, but KimmyKim should be able to settle this better.SIG TOO BIG! Yes, it is the Virtual Visa and I've been trying to use it online. I can definately see the advantage to an Electron card if you are a foreign webmaster, it is probably an excellent alternative to waiting on checks to clear, currency conversion fees, etc..My understanding is the Visa Electron card is for ATM withdrawels only and the Virtual Visa is for online transactions
But meanwhile, anymore suggestions as to where you have successfully used your virtual visas??

I had already given her the $100 card as a stocking stuffer, we opened gifts already since we will be out of town for Christmas, she is the one who has been trying to use it and it was her who was trying to buy something from the Kmart. haha. It is a little embarrasing though that two of her orders did not work)

I havent done alot of gift purchases, but i make about 10 purchases a month , never had a problem.
Occasionaly fraud departments flag the orders as fraud if the purchases are made from a different country than your address he account is.
Best idea is use the virtual card for online services and the electron to get cash out from an atm and buy offline.

This is indeed correct. The Virtual number is used for true online purchases and that is all it is valid for. The Electron card is valid at any PIN based ATM worldwide - as a matter of fact it works in some really weird places my friends tell me ;)Originally posted by Imageauction

I was able to use it at argos.co.uk but unless you are in the UK I guess that won't do you too much good.
I have had problems with a couple content suppliers not taking it but other than that it has mostly been okay. In the cases of those content suppliers I am pretty sure it had something to do with the way there form took expiry dates because that is where the rejection kept showing up.Comment

Ok, in fairness to Epassport I wanted to say that the errors I've been having was apparently due to user stupidity, I mean user error.
I thought the account was established in my wifes name and it was in mine, first attempt with my name instead of hers processed perfectly.

The VISA electron can be used in pin based ATM machines AND in shops that carry a Visa Electron logo.
Visa and Visa Electron is not the same.
Many online places decline both Visa electron and virtual visa with the reason that "cvv2 number is not valid"
I'm not sure if Epassporte isn't following the standards or whatever, but it is pretty annoyingI buy plugs
