When fear is everywhere, it makes little difference if you are at home or out doing what you would like to be doing, sweetie. If you have no idea what is going on with the threat stuff, go out, enjoy your day and do not lock yourself away, bound by fear, watching CNN and freaking yourself out. If something bad is on the way, it is on the way. Stressing yourself out and not enjoying what you can of the day is not going to make you any safer.
well you should actually stay home. i know your hair gel is flammable and if you get too close to an explosion then maybe you'll start a chain reaction
Sorry but your terror alert system is a joke, they should really do something to defend Americans instead of just color ccoordinating the threat level.

I am moving to the mountains of Canada where there is no one around for miles

SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR.
Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.
Let me repeat... A 120 x 60 button and no more that 3 lines of DEFAULT SIZE AND COLOR text.
Sometimes I think they're damned if they do and damned if they don't. If the terror alert is increased and nothing happens, does that mean it wan't ever going to happen or that it was deterred by the alert? Tough to say.
For me, I take each alert seriously but don't have any intentions of altering my holiday plans.

What scares me most is not about the next big terrorist attack, but how the american government is going to deal with it afterward. They can prevent 100 terrorist attacks, but they won't prevent them all.
I know that you would NEVER catch me in time square on New Years Eve. You figure that'd be a PRIME TARGET that's brodcasted world wide with millions watching. I know that's where I'd hit. They're creative people, if they wanna do an attack, they'll do it by some way that you'd never expect.
I try not to worry about it too much. Scary shit though. Osama has a nasty habit of waiting a couple of years between attacks. I agree with ya Juicy that the government is keeping something from us. I try not to think about it but it is always in the back of my mind.
it is pretty scary. and i'm glad i don't live in a huge city that is likely to be targeted. but i am a little worried about living close to D.C. and i can't wait until all this is OVER

what he said...
...in my previous life, during a course on International Relations/terrorism/poly sci...the understood progression of terrorism is something like the following:
1) put fear in a population
2) gov puts some severe restrictions down on population
3) population gets pissed at their own government....and in the end are more pissed at their gov than the original threat...
it's really a pretty interesting topic...
and even more interesting to watch this play out on a large scale in this country...

I'd agree with that one... as it's allmost a given something is going to happen at some point... They only have to get lucky one time, but we have to be lucky everytime.. But could you imagine what would happen if they managed to set off a dirty bomb in a major city..
I mean wtf would we do, you know it would be marshel law for a short time.. but who the fuck would we attack and what would we do about it... I'd say it would allmost be a given we would attack another mid eastren country..
In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.

They will deal with it by taking away more of your rights.
i've flown across the Atlantic a few times since Sept 11 ..including into new york the week after and back out the day we started bombing afghanistan. My husband on the other hand has only been on one hour long flight to France. He is starting to freak out about the four long flights we have to take to get to vegas and back. He isn't the best flyer anyway but this is going to so much fun.
in my previous life I had the pleasure of training some people on various topics including terrorism response...and stumbled across some old course material...
has a picture of the WTC with a target over it...
I know it was post-1st attempt on the WTC...but still kinda creepy to see after the 9/11 deal :/

Face it, the Duct Tape lobby was whining that Xmas sales just aren't like they were the last time we were at orange.
Either way, the Speer Gold Dots are all loaded in magazines, and just waiting here for one of those dancing Q-tip al Qaeda mofos to try something around here.
the other day I saw an old SNL (just started running on cable here) that was from about 96/97. The news section had a whole comic bit about the CIA putting out a warning about some guy named Osama. Was uncomfortable to watch them all sit in New York and laugh about this guy.

I am betting on the Dow Jones finishing lower tomorrow thanks to this warning. I wonder if the guys who put out this warning want a bit of extra cash and are doing the same?
