I wanted to go to a chiropractor for my back, but my doctor sent me to physical therapy instead. I was diagnosed with a herniated disc in my lower back (L4). I've had 3 months of physical therapy, starting at 2x a week and going to 2x a month. Mostly I got deep tissue massage and stabilization of my back.

We worked a lot on how to strengthen the muscles that support that area of my back and I've noticed a HUGE improvement. I'm now doing 20 minutes of "core pilates" at home 6 days a week and walking as much as I can find time for. My stomach and back muscles are so much stronger and my back and legs are way more flexible from working out with the ball and the band.

If I had it to do all over again, knowing what I know now, I'd do the physical therapy a lot earlier than I did. I wouldn't even think about a chiropractor.
