Untill today, I've always had Pentiums. I got a Athlon XP 2800+ 2.08GHz today. So far, It seems really damn nice... What's your experience with AMD and which do you perfer, Pentium or Amd?
I have the 2600 and i wouldnt want to trade it for a pentium.

my laptop has a 3200 and my pc has a 2800. I was reffered to amd processors and i think they are pretty damn good

I use Athlons as well but their prices aren't really that great anymore.
2 years ago, a top of the line Athlon XP 2200+ went for under $300 whereas the top of the line P4 at the time went for $600. Now the 3800+ and the FX-53 go for like $800.
Have had the 1800+ and now the 2400+. Quality chips overall. But keep them cool. When they over heat they over heat. You wont have anything left if it happens unlike intel chips.

yeah, if you get the wrong heat sync you can get a nice oven in there
