I am 275 and when i fight a brown belt id i cant get past there guard or submit them i do wear them down with my weight. But i have a black belt guy i go rounds with who is 160 pound guy and he submits me all the time. It all depends on a persons skills but size and weight does have its advantages.

hey congrats! Getting your blue in BJJ isn't like getting it in TKD or something, it means something. About 18 months or more of hard work, usually. They don't just give them away. Those black belts are wicked dangerous, the only black belts I've ever rolled with are Rener and Ryron Gracie and I'm like a little girl to them. They can beat most people using nothing but their legs. You won't get past their open guard and they'll snap you up into a triangle so fast you can't even see it coming.
for the guy talking about running into a BJJ guy in an alley... well it can happen but most of the guys I train with are very nice guys and like me aren't looking for trouble. Some of them won't go out of their way to avoid it though.
