    Santa or Satan...

    Have you ever thought about how close Santa is spelled to Satan?

    They both dress in red.
    They both show up out of nowhere.
    They both cannot be caught or killed.
    and they both give parents hell.

                                                      Satan is an imaginary charactor made up by christians to scare people into believing. The charactor of satan didn't even exist until christianity was invented. Look back in history before christianity and you will not find any mention of a satan.

                                                          I don't believe in any of it personally... god, satan religion period... but I feel everyone has their right to believe what they want... who am i to say they are wrong... same with you... until we die, we will NEVER know what is on the other side.

                                                              I totally agree that people should believe what they want and how they decide.

                                                              I am a Witch (try telling your family that) and I try to study ancient history on a daily basis and I was just pointing out a fact about the christian's so called satan. That's all.

While Amun was an ancient Egyptian God that took the place of Montu, he was never accociated as a evil incarnate type of God. As a matter of fact, he was symbolized by the goose ! Not real scary and was represented as all holy and later was known by the symbol of the ram and was associated with fertility.

                                                                                              I think I got your point. I go much further back in time in my religion, before the Romans started the downfall of the Goddess, she was worshiped long before any male god( go back to 25,000bc) . Also...I don't believe that the underworld is as satanist belive, bad and scary or evil. The night and underworld have been taught to us as a scary thing, when evil and where evil happens, I highly disagree with that.

                                                                                              All the Godesses and Gods had their two sides, like night and day. One was not better or worse than the other and it all equals out.

                                                                                              I can see why one would decide to worship one God over an other and I feel like you are well versed in your opinion. No biggie....I'm different too

                                                                                                      Well, here is just my opinion.....it's mostly an earth based religion, nature, both on this planet and in the stars and space beyond. I honor the old Goddesses and Gods, including the Triple Goddess of the waxing, full, and waning moon, and the Horned God of the sun and animal life. I also practice magick and defend myself for my beliefs almost every day. People really look at you funny when you wear a pentagam around your neck with an obsidian crystal hanging from it. Oh well.

                                                                                                      As a matter of fact, This time of year is very magickal for me. The Winter Solstice is a awesome time for Witches!
