Pretty much ANY data recovery program that's available can retrieve your data. It'll scan your HD sector by sector and get it back.
Just the index is gone, nothing more.
Punters that claim you're fucked have no clue.
However....DO put your HD in another computer and repair it from a different working HD. The more you install on your 'fucked' drive the more you DO loose because your old data will be overwritten otherwise...
