    GFY link killed my server?

So yesterday I found a link on GFY on testing the security of your server (securitymetrics.com/portscan.adp). I figured why not? I put in my domain and waited for the confirmation email, but got nothing. A few hours latter, I tried to connect to my server, but couldn't. I got technicians on it, and they said my server was just hit with a worm, which killed my server for half a day while they repaired it and the 70 other machines it spread to. Probably just a coincidence, but that's a first for me, and it had perfect timing.

...Whoa. Ironically, I just got that email from securitymetrics.com while I was writing this asking to confirm the scan... Yikes!

You're not using a Microsoft platform are you? That would not be smart.

I would expect my hosting company to be better prepared than to allow 70 servers to be *destroyed* by malware.

Still, that does suck plus some!!!!

Actually, yeah it is Microsoft: I've always used them because I didn't have time to learn another platform. I was thinking the same thing about my hosting company; they just said I shouldn't have installed the new patch. hmm.
