    How come so many Canadian teen white boys are into rap?

    they have tupac posters and listen to Jayz, why?
    theyre canadian and white, they dont know shit about living in the hood and being black.

    just curious why this obsession with ganster rap by people who couldn't possibly relate

      Perhaps they may just like the music for what it is and not consider color or social class an issue in deciding what kind of music they like

                                          Gee, let's look at music history to try to make a logical conclusion.

                                          The kids today like Rap just like their ancestors liked:

                                          Ragtime, then swing, then Jazz, then R & B, then Rock n Roll, then Heavy Metal, then Funk, then Rap....

                                          Seems like the black people keep inventing new forms of music and everybody else just joins in for the fun...

                                          Of note, each of the music genres listed above were considered 'devil's music' until they started making a profit and then it was 'okay'.

                                              My best guess being from toronto canada is this - the white boys see all the white girls hanging out and wanting to date black boys - so they imitate them since in teen society, being a rapper is cool and much more appealing than Clay Aiken.

                                              Face it, girls beg for a guy who treats them right, yet always fall for and get taken for a guy who treats them like shit - and rappers have this superiority complex and woman are whores and pieces of asses to be traded.

                                              In addition, the rap music also has a great deal of emotion behind it and that is why women are turned on too, they love a guy who they feel they can tame, who is emotional and over the top.

                                              All in all - I feel sorry for the black teen girls - black guys hit on white girls, and white guys hit on white girls.

                                              I still laugh alot and point when I see a white kid walking around dressed like a punk rapper with his pants half way down, they really do look ridiculous but then again - long hair was the same way when the beatles came out

                                                                              many people (mostly teenagers) who listen rap music do it just because it's cool and it makes them look agressive but inside they are softer then silicones(spelling?), they dont understand the meaning of songs, and they also can't relate in any way.

                                                                                      I listen to rap, rock, punk, a little pop, hip hop, and I can relate and get emotion out of most songs I listen to. Just because someone is from "the hood" doesn't mean I didn't go through a similiar hard time or good time that he/she has, obvisiously not exactly the same, but you can find meaning in anything.

                                                                                      I also think Canadians are more diverse and accepting, people plain and simple like to party up here and mostly get along with each other, we'd rather get high & drunk & party together then high & drunk & kill each other.

                                                                                      I don't think there is anything wrong with white kids listening to rap, only something wrong with the people that have nothing better to do then attack these white teens. I don't understand the point of someone HAVING to act a certain way, because their thousands or millions of same color/race acts that way, why not be original? Or be the same? Who cares? Just fucking party and have a good time while you're here.
