I'm sure it wasn't Quickbuck's main server, it was their bullet proof landing page server I'm sure. If you were a real mailer you'd have your own hosting, and if you were a real mailer you wouldn't bitch at someone else's bp hosting going down when they're hosting landing pages for you for free.

I hear on the grapevine that Search Warrants were executed in Melbourne this week with regard to a spammer who was using proxies, he's going to be charged with computer crime offences.

The noose is tightening around the necks of several spammers, they don't know it yet, but you can bet that many spammers have actually been mailing through honeynet traps and the data being gathered by antispam organisations is being forwarded right through to special teams set up in Australia, UK and USA to deal with spammers in a world wide crackdown...

All I can say to spammers is , you're going to need to wonder who it is knocking on your door... remember , when they come to visit you the investigation is over

are there actually strong laws in UK and Australia against spamming? I can't see anyone getting extradited to the US to face charges.

I dunno about Oz but in the UK spamming is punishable by a 5000 pound fine, for residents of the EU only. In Italy I think you can get a 90 000 euro fine and three years in jail.
