The reason the Highway patrol and sheriff deputies pull people over like that is because we have major highways that intersect our state. I-35 goes north and south all the way through the United States and I-40 which runs east and west across the united states, both which intersect in downtown OKC. Alot of drug smuggling comes through Oklahoma through both of these highways, and to get from any side of the country to the other you would have to drive through Oklahoma, unless you took a scenic tour to get there.
And no Oklahoma is not in the "Bible Belt".
Theres not an over abundance of "hicks" around Oklahoma, you would have to go more east if you really wanted to find "hicks".
