well i would like something small to make it easy to carry around, but I figure if Ihave to carry it, size wont matter too much.

it'll be used for just everyday photos, nothing special.

The canon g5 is a great camera ($550) if you aren't up for the Digital Rebel ($900).

Yeah that Rebel looks pretty good. not cheap though.

yeah, it's a 5.0 megapixel compared to 6.3 for the rebel, but yeah its a good cam

no it's not but its a great midline camera for about a grand (with lens) 6.3 MP, it's a great cam

SLR doesn't have a LCD screen, only the viewfinder.

has it for something around $260, I did the upgrades 256 high speed memory(sweet , teh high speed lets you take a picture as fast as you can click teh button, no lag!) case, batteries w charger, memeroy card reader. was $420 with shipping, great deal i highly recomend buying from them. They will call you & try to up sell you stuff, all pretty good deals! Oh best of all the A70 has an after market underwater case so you can dake it snorkeling! The camera is a littel heavery with teh 4 battaries, but its small size , with big features kicks ass.
