get some speakers!! lots of HUGE black speakers and connect everything up to your amp(s).
Even my pc is hooked up to the tv and amps(3 of them) - a total of 16 speakers for Team Fortress to explode out of on a 28" screen.
My neighbours love me really

I got myself a humble home theater too. I am a big Sony fan too, so natually I got a nice 28" Sony tv (no HDTV though), Sony Amp with DD5.1, DTS and the works and 5 speakers + sub. I finally got a Sony DVD player too last month (been using a Playstation2 for DVD's until then), so the setup is complete at least for now.
What is the difference between HDTV and normal tv's anyway ? I heard that the resolution is much better but that most programs and movies don't support the format and will look the same as on standard tv's. Even DVD movies are too low-res to support HDTV so they have to come up with a replacement for DVD to take full advantage of the new standard

Fraid I can't compete with Lens, but I have a 53"
Cool thing is I have one of my computers tied into it. I bought a wireless keybord and mouse and I fuck around on the computer sitting in my recliner in the living room.
Wish it was that comfy here at the office!

I think Lensman is talking about a front projector, not a TV. I looked at some of them, but I couldn't afford anything with a decent picture. The LCD ones were cheap but the blacks were too washed out for my liking. The good DLP and CRT ones were way out of my price range. I settled with a HDTV ready Sony 53 inch TV, which is puny compared to a projector, but it's got a decent picture for my room size.
I'm getting a HDTV decoder this month, even though there's only one HDTV channel on satellite so far. I'll probably be stuck sitting at home watching the high definition PBS loop over and over again. But it'll have a dam nice picture!Comment

Yea i got a 55" Philips digital projector TV, it was clearer than the others i was looking at about 2 years, Fackin awsome when you connect a PS2 to it, movies without saying!
Also there is a nice hole in the front you could insert a plastic vigina (The vigina tourch) into it if you were that way inclined!
Could be a new niche!

I have a 36" Sony Wega (will get a bigger TV maybe in a few months) hooked up to a..
Denon AVR-3802 reciever (will upgrade to a Denon AVR-5803 as soon as possible)
2 Cerwin Vega LS-12 (main front speakers)
1 Cerwin Vega E-76c (center)
2 Cerwin Vega E-706 (surrounds speakers)
2 Cerwin Vega E-76c (back surround used for Dolby Digital 6.1)
1 Cerwin Vega LW-12 (sub woofer) - used to have another sub (Cerwin Vega HT-10) but I gave it to my brother when I moved out.
There is better then what I have but it still kicks major ass
oh and Sony is good when it comes to tvs but Sony speakers are pure fucking garbageLast edited by Yngwie; 12-15-2003, 08:10 AM.ICQ: 16544251 - Skype: gator37 @ eastlink.ca - email: yngwie @ isys.caComment

I've got a home theater Lens. Sony HD Projector of some kind, 110" firehawk screen, some fancy german brand of speakers to create the surround, power conditioners all the works.
It's nice to have if you prefer to avoid the movie theater.<a href="http://www.adultplatinum.com/"><img src="http://www.adult.com/wmbanners/10dcash-468x60.gif"></a>Comment

I have an Integra DLV-100 dlp projector and a 100 inch screen.
Using a JVC progressive scan dvd player with optical audio out to the dolby reciever and the usual 5 speaker / 1 subwoofer setup. The video out goes to a viewsonic video processor which converts the output from the dvd player to 1024x768p resolution, which is my projector's native resolution.
The result: no pixels showing, no scan lines, no "screen door" effect, and no artifacting or "aliasing"
Keep in mind that even the best projector is only as good as the signal going to it. Run your stuff thru a video processor to get the best image quality.Comment
