The shitty part about Saddams capture is...

That it will take millions and months, maybe years to put him to justice.

This guy will end up with either:

Imprisonment for life or he will be sentenced to death.
We all know that and we all know why.

But our system will allow him to defend him self, he will get lawyers, there will be endless amounts of money and time spend on him.

Sad, very sad.

Saddam is a common thug with some manipulative brain cells. He was like this from an early age.

He is going to be "used" by the US for many puposes, - ranging from "we are making people free" to base political propaganda. That has already started.

When you consider it was the US who placed him in power when they already knew he was a violent thug, - there is nothing "good" in this "achievement".

As far as a trial, he may have a trial, but that again, has been put in place by the US. The US is not willing to have anything other than "showcase trials" in Iraq and is already subject to citicism worldwide. Judges have been appointed with nada experience of human rights/genicide issues under the US occupation of that country.

Saddam in a way is meaningless, since he was the "friend" of the US who implented their wishes as was needed over time. He does need a trial, - even if that is a matter of respect to those he has killed. Tho there are serious doubts about any "trials" of Saddam or others by the US, when it was the US who "enabled" him for their own selfish reasons.

The US govt has opposed any form of international criminal courts and has bribed serveral nations in an attempt to do the same.

The UN does not currently have any jurisdiction in Iraq until member states decide otherwise. The UN does not have "military tribunals" - they have full publicly open court proceedings.

It would be more than embarassing to hear from Council representing Saddam of his history of involvement in crimes against humanity that were enabled and implented on behalf of the United States.

Saddam will not, least at this time, have any form of "normal trial"

On the subject of any constitution, we got Bremner's friends writing one and taking as long as possible.

We got the Iraqi Census Board with firm plans to have an electoral roll next year. We got Bremner trying to hide this from the "Iraqi Governing Council" cos he don't want no elections :-) But at the same time he is using the lack of an electoral role as the reason "we can't have an election". Anyway, the "Iraqi Governing Council" are outta favor in Washington now cos they ain't doing as they are told.

There ain't such a thing, and not likely to see such a thing as an "Iraqi military court" until the US has gone home or has left on the same basis they left during Vietnam. You think for one moment that the "elected" leader in the US is going to pass over Saddam to any democratically elected government in Iraq that probably is not going to look favorably on the US?? History of "US foreign policy" in that region seems to indicate otherwise...
