          It's coming.

When CAN-SPAM passes, the 'legal spammers' will sue the shit out of the anti's and anyone who blocks their legal email from their opt-in clients.

Spammers are amusing folk, when they're not crying about being booted from host to host, or whinging about being persecuted, they set up cute little web sites which list, lets see better count this to be sure, two.. wow two names of antispam activists!

Yes, I bet the anti spam community is shaking in it's boots. Fear the wrath of the spammer as he wreaks havoc on the internet!

Simply put, spammers are lying thieves, mere pondscum which blooms ever now and then until nature takes it's course.

Spammers were once considered a nuisance to governments, now however they are legitimate target's for prosecution and the more of them that hang for their sins the better this world will be.

That might be true at first, but if spammers antagonize the public, they are going to force even more drastic legislation.

                The government loves to overreact.

anti spammers don't block anyone, they publish lists which can be used with appropriate mail server rules to block email from particular sources.

As the owner of property you have the right to allow/refuse whoever you like.

It's simple, if I don't want mail from you then i'll reject it, my mailserver my rules. You can't sue me for not accepting your crap.

The I-CAN-SPAM law is a good news for SpamCop, SBL, and SPEWS blocklists since the blocklists will become even more important with the increase in SPAM. The blocklists will become even more effective since using proxies or any trickery to disguise the source of the spam is a no-no so it will become easier to identify, locate, and block. ISPs and individuals are free to block or filter anything they want.

The Spammers have already tried to shut down the major blocklists via a lawsuit and they were laughed out of court.

This law was designed to favor the mainsleaze type spammers like the Microsofts, etc. If you read the law, porn spam is supposed to identified as such( specifics are vague) , so it will be even easier to filter out......
