You're right. But a good analogy would be based on biological history... mammals have been around for almost as long as reptiles. During the age of dinosaurs, mammals kept low and were very tiny...couldn't really compete with the large dinosaurs who monopolized the ecology. One meteor hit later... dinosaurs gone...mammals...well they got HUGE.
Same thing with the adult industry... PPS model pretty much squelches everything else out there due to network effect. But if that model cracks up due to regulatory, technical, and consumer pressures.... well, its time for smaller, faster, and more nimble models to take over.
DuoCash may not be the perfected form of an alternative system....but its definitely a start. We need diversity in our business ecology since there's THREE identifiable meteors headed our way (CC regs, Popup blockers, Spam laws and imputed liability), among others I'm sure.

The problem in this industry is that 98% of the webmasters are scared of change and losing money. So yes, your analogy is good, the only way for something like DuoCash to work is for VISA and MC to say "no more online billing, PERIOD".
Now THATS a meteor... but CC Regs are not really.. its more like volcanos that one ;) It'll fuck up a few places but make others stronger in the long run.
There sadly is no "fix" to all this, it has to hit the industry strong and hard or nothing will change.
One of the few real fixes in my oppinion is ACH, everyone has checking accounts, or else they would not have CCs no? (Not sure if its possible to only have a savings account thats linked to a CC, not from the US myself) It just has to be made EASIER... AND there HAS to come a friggin biller that does COLLECTIONS, I can't beleive that they do not exist.

I would personally like to have an anonymous card i could purchase stuff on the internet ( services ) with. And i think alot of people would too.
Look at all the people arrested that end up having long trails of internet porn memberships because of credit card bills , or wives who freak out because of porn charges on the credit cards. With duocash its totally anonymous.
And as i stated re-bills are just as easy with duocash as with visa, and your surfer is happy , not getting ripped off.Comment

Good points, Nathan. However, CC companies don't need to ban online billing to rock PPS' world. All they need to do is to either kill rebills or require MANDATORY notifications. If this is the case, it will be like the meteor that hit Yucatan, Mexico 50M years ago. It will change the economic dynamics of PPS so much that they either stop or offer MUCH MUCH lower payouts.
