I work the night shift, have found meditation, exercise and ambien do wonders.

Secret for me on nights is to keep as normal of schedule as possible. Hit the gym after work and do some errands, try not to sleep until 10 or 11am. Still get funny looks at the donut shop when I order breakfast and one of the local San Miguel Beers
