I'm not sure if the updates fixed it, but for fun I installed the SP2 beta... and it does stop it. Also stops all pop-ups, pop-unders... hell, flash ads, dialer / toobar prompts... it stops almost all sales efforts sans direct linking.
Things will being changing soon... granted, not every surfer at home is going to install it or have a near up to date system, but it could take big chunks out of everyones money.
As a surfer, SP2 is great, as a webbie... shit fuck hell, time to redo some things.
