Cheapest tropical place to travel too?

I'm a cheap ass bitch, whats the cheapest place to travel to from Canada or North East part of the states? I'm looking to go down to the Carribean somewhere, or anywhere really thats exotic and different, somewhere to crash and relax for a week...

I know it depends on seasons to, cheaper at some time of year?

Check out fares to Belize. Not an island, but sweet beaches and dirt cheap.

Bad place for women traveling alone, though.

Cancun and the Dominican Republic are both cheap. Go to Cancun if you just want to party the whole time. Go to the Dominican Republic if you want a variety of things. It is very pretty and cultural. The south side of the island has the best beaches, but most of the all inclusive resorts are on the east side.
If you want to go into the city stay by Santo Domingo it is on the southern side and is a really cool place.
