"Lifting Shadows" is an awesome song. Hell, Awake was a killer fuckin album.

What do you think about this new CD they just put out?

"Train of Thought" is a very good heavy DT album, but it has a few flaws - namely rapping, vox effects, a few "wanker" solos and underusage of Rudess. I still think "Awake" is their best heavy album.

I agree 12 million percent. However it was somehting they needed to do to attract new listeners. I find a good part of this album has a RATM feel too it due to the "rapping" but it's all good none the less

It sounded to me a great deal like Awake meets pre-black album Metallica meets Queensryche.

Interesting and strange mix, IMHO. I love the hell out of it.

Just to be clear, I do really like ToT. I'm just playing the part of critic and pointing out the few little things that bug me. DT sacrificed some of their legendary creativity and nuance for outright heaviness. All in all, it was nice to hear them come out with a great bunghole-ripper, especially after 6 Degrees of Inner Crapulence.

I agree. It was high time that they got together and did a balls-out ass-ripper.

After all this time, these guys are still the screaming gods of progressive metal.

I have some Altex Lansing. They are ok but the kids are asleep otherwise I'd just use the stereo

I wired mine tot he tower speakers in the living room and the small surrounds in the office. it's loud enough that you can clearly hear it in the street...over an acre away.
