this is my current blacklist.... anything coming from these addys is automatically bounced and deleted off my server without me ever seeing them.

this is the wave of the very near future..... I don't tolerate bullshit at all. Spam me once with your fucking unsolicited garbage and you get put on the list. Not only do you never get through to me ever again, but your addy is mine to do with as I see fit. Don't like it? Don't spam me.

Did you not know of the "block sender" feature?

block sender? What need that I for? Is this not the same thing? Difference being, I can preview everything before ever downloading it off the server and decide if I wanna just delete it, delete and bounce it, both, or put them on the blacklist....

very versatile.... very satisfying..... I like it.

I get about 5 - 10 legit emails a day.... and about 500 - 600 spams.... that I never see. I rarely ever hafta crack open Outlook, except for the legit mail.

Spam wars fun! Would be kind of fun if there was a contest among webmasters on who can get the most spammers canned by BOTH their ISPs and their sponsor. That would be hilarious!

No, none really. It was just how you were calling it the wave of the future and stuff. I don't know, I've been using block sender for my personal email accounts and allowing myself to receive spam to my business. I can delete them easily, and sometime I like to see their tactics. The best subject line I've received recently, "Support your ears are hairier than your head." I had to look.

see... that's what I'm talking about.... all it takes is ONE asshole. Send me a spam from some addy @ comcast, and I get fed up and blacklist the whole mutherfuckin' shit. Fucks everyone else on the domain. But.... obviously I use some discretion concerning big blanket domains like Yahoo, Hotmail, etc... because I know some people using those addys.... comcast I don't know anyone using it so I don't care. Blacklists must certainly be customized to fit each persons situation.

but I expect most people from here would use something professional.... for example, I use RR as my hookup.... and ONLY my hookup. They are a pipe to me and nothing more. I don't use their email or their 5 megs of free webspace. They are on the same level as electricity, water, & garbage service to me, and that's it. ISPs are not designed to conduct your business through.

Must be nice that you can filter your email and be so selective?wish I had the luxury. However, I cannot because I may kick back an email from a client or possible lead. Sucks being self employed?rather than reading current events, I read headers of emails and delete the spam.

nope... of the 500+ spams I get daily, between 5 - 10 get through because they're from new domains.... which are promptly added to the blacklist and never seen again.... lol

Don't get me wrong. I use spam filter programs on many email accounts. I just cannot afford to block email on my main email account, so I read the headers and delete.

Has anyone used SpamArrest? Instead of forcing you to maintain your own blacklist it requires senders to do a human-checking image-text thing the first time they send to you. Thereafter they are on your white list.

Comcast is the largest cable company in the states now...so a large ISP also.

Try out Mozilla's mail program. Built in basenian filters. Works great.

then they better be contacting me through some other method hadn't they.... a professional domain/non-spam, ICQ, GFY, Telephone, Fax, or otherwise.....

theres a 30 day free trial, its not as harse as amps method but yeah if you get alot of spam it works as spammers never verify, but soon they will i guess

My Yahoo email does pretty good with filtering spams.
