Are you kidding? Of course you dont have to live in dorms! Most colleges actually have limited availability and encourage you to live off campus if you can. -
Depends on the college. TTU says you have to be living with a relative within 50 miles of school or you have to live in dorms your freshman year.Comment

If there are limited rooms available, they'll probably be reserved for students that live outside a certain mile radius.... meaning that you won't qualify for a room if you already live nearby - for example, within 20 miles or less.Comment

I'd be kind enough to inform them that legal adults are free to live wherever they please. Dorms are often unsuitable. They can shove that rule in their ass.Comment
