Conversions - 1, 2, 3 page ratio count?

Do you think it would be beneficial to see not only 1st page, but the order page stats too? To see how many people make it that far, and from that page how many order?

If you're sending blind traffic or exit console popups directly to a first page then second page stats make more sense.

If you're sending targeted hits then first page stats are more valuable.

PornDollar has always counted 1st page raw and unique.

It is a true count.

Why count anything other than that?

See the reason why I am convinced you need MORE stats is simply because I can see it being a nice statistical breakdown of the specific sponsors effectiveness. For example, if it looks like 10% of the users are going to the order page - and they all bail, then first of all WHY is only 10% going to the order page and why are none buying. How can you increase the effectiveness of the 1st hit page to get MORE traffic to the order page without sending them blindly.

In this sense I suppose it is more beneficial to the paysite itself. But for the user it tells them how well the site flows for the user. I mean it may give them some insight on how to better send traffic. To play with their methods. If for example you send 1,000 to the 1st page. Then it tracks 450 to the second, and 2 buy... you've got 1:225 on the second page and 1:500 on the 1st.

What I am trying to get at I suppose is why not have BOTH there for everyone to see? It could prove to be very nice to see.

I mean it may explain why some of these sites are 1:2,500. Because no one gets past the 1st page. They all bail. But the users that DO get to the next page are very interested in buying.

To me that would mean simply targetted the traffic more and qualifying it better.

More stats about any aspect of how surfers look through sales tools = always a good thing.

I wish there was more consistency in how people determined conversion ratios though. Like an industry standard. I tend to decide which sponsors work for me based on a combination of which ones produce sales tools (banners, galleries, etc.) my surfers are most likely to click on, combined with ratios on raw clicks per sale. I tend to look at the $ I get in and my own click stats more than a sponsor's stats, just because all the sponsors seem to define hits differently.

I'm wondering if there are any scripts out there that can DB a url and spit out a linkid and track the clicks that way too. Maybe built into a TGP script or something to make it seamless?

You need to count the very first hit to tell the real value of your traffic and conversions.

I assume sponsors who count 2nd page hits only do it so conversions look better for their webmasters. Not sure if that is correct though.

I personally, won't promote a site that doesn't count all my traffic.

I mean this industry is no different than any other. Statistical data is KEY in making judgements about effectiveness of programs etc.

It comes down to: Each of my visitors is worth $x.
Now, if you had stats to help increase your OVERALL revenue by 10, 20, 70% would you be opposed to that?

First page unique is most important to me. $ per unique is the key.

If the surfer come in once and does'nt buy and come back later and does'nt buy I don't want him counted twice = raw.

I like to see 1st page hits.. To me, 2nd page or join page hits are just for a better ratio. I think socalcash uses a thing like youre talking about.

i wish there was more than just 1 stat but all they show is 1:ratio and dont specifiy what page hit it is. kindof silly more stats are better!
