question for cat owners, cats keep fighting

ok i have a cat thats a year old, he's is neutered male cat with fronts declawed.. he likes to bite when he plays, which is weird but im used to it..

anyway, i have guests staying with me for the next 2 months or so.. they also have a year old male cat that is neutered and declawed..

my cat kicks this guests cat's ass everyday, he ambushes the guests cat and bites the shit out of him...

is there anything i can do so these little fucks get along?

Cats are very territorial...especially 2 males...unless they grew up with each other, they will always fight..unless they are playing

thats the thing, i think my cat is playing, because he bites when he plays usually.. and hes biting this other cat.. in the mean time, my guests are shitting bricks.

we have 2 cats...1 is 7 years old and the other is 4 years old

when the younger one came, the older one fought every day with it as a kitten, we had to keep them apart for almost 3 months

they still fight constantly....even biting and violent wrestling....like brother and sister

when it gets out of hand we seperate them

they are just like siblings though

didn't catch this the other day.

Put them in seperate rooms for a day or so. Then switch rooms so they get used to the smell of the other cat. Then only let them be together for a while when you are around. Usually they will settle down with time.

                      Good advice

This might also work - wipe them down with damp cloths, swap cloths, wipe them down again. Repeat often. By doing this you are tranferring each cats scent to the other cat - eventually each cat will get used to having the other cats scent on them, and will be less likely to fight.

Cats are really stoopid! I have a cat (less than a year of age), well, play means throwing itself on my hand and scratching & biting the shit out of it. My hands are full of scratches. I would want to have two of these cats, man, they'd probably be fighting day and night. After a couple of weeks, I'd put one of them to sleep

Actually thats your own fault.. never should have allowed the cat to learn that behavior from the start

I've also heard that putting baby powder on both of them can throw them off. Then they both smell the same.

You should have given them a lot of time to get used to each others' scents before introducing them face to face. When you're bringing a new cat into a house, you have to let them talk under the door for at least a week, then switch their rooms. Let them roam around each other's room, smelling away. Do that a few times, then introduce them after a while. And supervise a lot at first.

I agree with PK. You need to slowly integrate them, and let them get used to each other first, before giving them free reign of the house. Otherwise the new cat will know he doesn't belong in the other cat's territory, but he'll have nowhere to go, so he has to fight it out. It's kind of sad, really.

Cover them both in tuna oil, and lock them in the bathroom together for a couple of hours.
they will spend the time licking each other and come out the best of friends

Cat's will never totally stop fighting- my cats clean eachother and love, but the older cat still finds time to body slam the younger kitten on the tile floor.

Well I have 2 cats...as long as they dont get seperated they are ok..but if one cat stays at one place for some time his smell changes...meaning ones he get home the cat who staid at home will have to kick his ass.

Cats almost never fight untill the end because they often give up sooner or later...
So I think what you need to do is to let them catch the same smell.

This will happen after a while...but they need to stay at the same place all the time for this to happen.
CumSensei say: SEO traffic makes big boom boom.
