I think they should dump his ass and get some good talent to surround Kobe with. This article shows what some of the greatest centers ever have done after 32 and I agree that Shaq is not even close to as durable as some of these centers.

if you think the lakers have any chance at winning a title without shaq you're out of your mind unless they had tim duncan and they don't or won't

kobe + whoever = nothing

I think they have a better chance of winning with Kobe than they do with Shaq. He is getting older, his production is declining, and he refuses to admit it and get in really good shape. I am a huge Laker fan and would love to see him get into great shape and win some more titles with Kobe like Kareem and Magic did in the 90s.

His PRODUCTION is declining, so he only averaged 27 points a game this year....

They really have no choice, Shaq is demanding to be traded. It really makes sense in all areas. Shaq is getting old and makes $30 mil per year. Kobe is 7 years younger and will only make $20 mil per yr if he resigns with the Lakers. Surrond Kobe with some good talent and they are contenders again. They will never be the same dynasty they were with Shaq and Kobe, but they will be still be a contender.

However if they lose both they will be the laughing stalk of all sports for many years to come.

I concur BIG TIME! He should take his Max let the Lakers trade Shaq for some good talent to surround him and then challenge Shaq in the finals for the next couple of years.

trading Shaq is a big slot that the Lakers have to fill up, even Kobe himself is not assured of a crown without him. The last 3 championship for the LA franchise was with the efforts of Kobe and Shaq.

Eventhough Shaq is getting old, no one can still beat his superior power in the inside even if you match him with the Big guys such as Tim or Yao.

That was a good article. I think Lakers should get rid of Shaq. He may still be dominate next year, but not the year after. He is getting old, and age affects the big guys the most.

Lakers need to get what they can.
