That really sucks about your brother, but sadly, he's not putting his life on the line for a just cause. He's putting his life on the line to make Bush's friends rich and get him elected again, and to me, that's fucking disgusting. You should be focusing your time and effort on getting him home, and getting rid of Bush so your brother doesn't get killed in Iran, Syria, or any other oil rich place on Bush't hit list. Nobody really argued against the war in Afghanistan, you know the one the US are letting Canada fight now while they're getting rich in Iraq? Maybe spend 87 billion dollars on defense at home instead of blowing it on no-bid Halliburton contracts in Iraq. But if you look at the execution of each of those attacks they are all child's play compared to 9/11. And the way in which the events of 9/11 were handled were ridiculous. 9/11 should have only been allowed to happen if jet interceptors were tailing the planes but were given orders not to fire. That event never occured, because there were no interceptors properly dispatched. The other attacks are far less damaging in their scope and far easier to carry out. The 9/11 attack should have been avoided even during its execution because there are strict guidelines on procedure, which were never followed.Originally posted by rooster

Who said anything about Clinton? I wasn't happy with his lack of attention to terror, but I researched what was really going on and found out that terrorists were his #1 concern in the last year of his Presidency, and the Bush admin publicly called him "obsessed with terror". He didn't solve any problems, but maybe if Bush had continued on is Clinton's footsteps, they would have made progress. Obviously I don't have a secret solution to stop terrorists, but what I do know is that LAUNCHING A FIRST STRIKE ATTACK AGAINST AN ARAB NATION NOT INVOLVED IN TERROR FOR PROFIT AND KILLING THOUSANDS OF CITIZENS AND HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF AMERICAN SOLDIERS IS NOT THE ANSWER.Originally posted by rooster

Wow, being an independent is fun! I get to see absurd arguments from the ultra-liberals and the super-conservatives, both blindly following their parties to their dying breath, because of their lack of objectiveness on issues.
I must admit I voted for Gore in 2000, but have noticed that we're much, much better off with Bush. Bush has many personal faults and inconsistencies in some of his policies, but he's working his ass off to keep us all safe, in our sheltered little cottages. If you need proper, documented justification for liberating Iraq, please take a look at all the United Nations Security Resolutions that Saddam has violated, (without the United Nations having taken any action against him). Btw, this comment is coming from somebody who's been very close (prefer not to say how) to the United Nations his whole life.
If you're worried about our soldiers' lives, you do have a legitimate beef because they're being picked away at slowly by nutty insurgents, but most of that will be over once we leave Iraq in June 2004, which is also when Afghanistan has elections, and the Iraqi government is properly setup again.
Wonder if the Iraqis wanted to be liberated? Go to Baghdad yourself and ask the millions who've lost family members to Saddam's regime. I've been there myself and I know firsthand the bullshit facade that people had to put up. Enough said.Wanna talk Search Engine Optimization?
