Yep the kids and I got one this year, because last year it kept our sick days down to almost NOTHING from the flu. My son is very small and gets sick all the time, and I've never had a winter go so illness-free as after he got the shot.. I'll go next year too!Comment

the flu shot is bogus, every time you get the flu it's a virus, when you get it your body builds up an immunity to that strain of the flu, therefore everytime that you get it it's a different strain....the flu shot is "supposed" that u don't get as sick as u normally would..but most ppl think that just b/c u get the shot u won't get sick...in fact most ppl that I know who get the shot actually DO get sick!! so IMO don't get it and take your chances! Just wash your hands alot and don't put' em in your mouth..

Flu shots are like $20, and if you want to double the pleasure add the pneumonia which is good for like 10 years.
If ya hate needles they have a snort version instead.
Its all dead virus so you cannot get the flu from the shot.

Apparently you aren't overly familiar with the way viruses work in the body. Of course it's a virus.. what do you think other immunizations are? They are actual y the virus or bacteria in question. Most medical facilities that give flu shots do explain that it only covers a few strains of the flu, but considering the way that flus mutate, having one strain of flu can actually help prevent other strains, as the body will still identify the virus as foreign and malicious and activate an immune response to help combat it. Of course some people ACTUALLY get sick from the shot, but in most cases what they get is only 1/100th as bad as what they COULD get if they weren' t protected with the shot...Originally posted by Odie

Getting a flu shot COULD in fact kill you if you have allergies to eggs or egg whites, as they are based on these things.. My husband is allergic and cannot recieve the shot..Originally posted by axelcat
