Who does Bin Laden want to win the election?

OK so this latest terror threat we're hearing about from Bin Laden is supposedly because he wants to influence our election, and have it happen in November.

My question is...who do you think Bin Laden wants to win, and why?

Osama wants Bush. Al Qaeda is recruiting crazy Arabs at a much faster rate because of Iraq.

I don't care about Bin Laden in the sense that I hope he's doing OK this evening...I care about what he can do with attacks to our country. Did you forget 9/11 already?

Why can't we find this guy? It's been almost three years now since 9/11. We have satellites that can pinpoint a fly on dog but we can't find a six foot four inch towel head hiding in the mountains?

Exactly, AQ wants Bush to win becasue they know hes an idiot and hes only helping their cause by providing reason to join up with AQ. Then again Kerry is going to have close to the same stance on terror so its really a catch 22

As a guy that spends more time with open source intelligence than messing with porn, the next few months have me quaking in my boots.

Run, don't walk, and get a copy of Imperial Hubris and leaf through that.

Anonymous wrote another book before Imperial Hubris, called Through Our Enemies' Eyes which was originally an open source manual for CIA analysts to read up on Al Qaeda. Anonymous is not a retired Fox News military analyst talking out of his ass for 10 minutes inbetween commerical breaks.

Anonymous accuses United States leaders, elites and media of being in denial about the nature of the Qaeda threat and the balance sheet on the war on terror: he argues that America must stop using the terrorist paradigm for Al Qaeda and accept "the fact" that the group is "leading a popular, worldwide, and increasingly powerful Islamic insurgency," and he asserts that United States victories against Al Qaeda have thus far been tactical ones that have failed to slow "the shift in strategic advantage toward al Qaeda."

In the course of this book, Anonymous excoriates American leaders for not having had an immediate military response planned for an event like 9/11: "None had been planned in the eleven months since the attack on the U.S.S. Cole, or in the five-plus years since bin Laden declared war" on the United States.

I am seriously expecting something, and something big, 9/11 is going to look like nothing if these guys in Washington don't stop bickering between themselves and really seriously get on the ball.

I won't be a bit suprised if it happens during the Democratic convention, but don't think because its in Boston, you are safe, they want something to slow democracy and economics to a grinding halt.

                          Strategically, it is better for Osamas plot if Bush wins;
though most of his desires have already been served.

Osama wanted America to invade Iraq.
Osama wanted Saddams secular government out of power, but couldn't do it alone.
9/11 was to bait us into it. Bush took the bait. Osama says thank you.

Osama wants to unite the muslim world against the west. Bush has done that - pushed millions of moderate muslims into hardline positions.. and recruited more jihadists than Osama ever could. (despite decades of trying)

Osama wanted to diminish the authority of America, distance us from our political allies and turn global opinion against us. Bush has given him all that.

It's not only a strategic blunder of disasterous historical proportions,
but it's just so fucking embarrasing.

It might make some here feel better/safer to call them primitive animals or towelheaded cameljockeys or whatever, but the Al Queda leadership is not stupid. So far, they are outsmarting our so-called 'leadership'. And they know that America will rally around the president if they can pull off another attack before November.
Our current admin knows this too.

As far as who gets elected affects all this now....
unfortunately, most of the damage is already done.
We will be paying for this in $$$ and lives for a generation.

The Bush admins kneejerk reactions (motivated either by shady business arrangements, or just plain stupidity, or both) has basically turned a small isolated politically-motivated criminal organization into a legitimatized worldwide political power complete with an effective military arm.

My hope is that, if the American people publically 'punish' Bush by not re-electing him, it will buy us some forgiveness from all the formerly sympathetic nations that arrogant sonofabitch pissed off.

I know Americas collective ego doesn't like the idea of admitting mistakes... but we need the world to trust us again... to honestly want to work with us... if we are going to fend off terrorism effectively with as few casualties as possible.

Indeed Bush's policy allowed Al-Qaeda to become stronger. The US troops in Iraq are a nice present to Osama. It hasn't been that easy for him ever bedore to blow american soldiers to pieces since they are in Iraq

I assume our best response would have been to sit on our asses then? Or maybe we could try to negotiate. This is the most important time in the history of the world, quite simply it is evil/oppression vs. freedom. I don't care who the hell is in office, as long as they wipe these bastards off the face of the earth (and ofcourse don't jack up taxes). Enough with partisan politics, kill these bastards FIRST, then we can go back to our regular lifestyle of mumbling about gay marriage and other life-threatening issues....
