Those accounts pay me enough to keep me in business and allows me to keep my board running so the thousands of members I have can enjoy it. I do about 100-150 tasks each day...who knows im not really counting, and i dont think i should have to stop my music just because im coming here

I honestly had no idea of just how many crybabies there are on this board.
Well, I suppose I had some idea. But I did not realize there were so many.
For the record, I don't like the sound banners either. No, that's not ture either..... there have been a few that were quite amusing over the years. I can't recall them exactly, but I know there were several that had me laughing. But in general I don't like them.
So I changed my work habits a little. That's all, just a little. I listen to the radio while on the boards, so I get my tunes but can have the sound turned off on my computer. It wasn't that big of a deal to me to do this. When I want to listen to the playlist on my computer I'm usually designing something or updating my sites or something, and am NOT taking little breaks to check the boards. To me work is work. I'll finish my work, then come here and fuck around after. (with the sound off)
To me the solution is so easy, why would I want to come here and publicly cry my eyes out over what amounts to an insignificant annoyance? I never sit at the computer clicking around on GFY or any message board while I'm talking to someone on the phone. If I ever do, my volume on the speakers is turned off. (duh)

When I go over those fucking banners, especially by accident (which is the only time I do it now), it's a pain in the ass and is extremely counterproductive. Phoenix, you've got your little ad blocker thing now, go use it and be happy. All this complaining is useless from where I sit. I said that I also don't like the sound ads... I said that. Right here in this very thread I said it.... thus I agree with you on that point. But for me the problem ends there, because when I open a browser to come here I turn my sound off. To me it's that simple. In fact, as soon as I pick up the phone I turn my sound off.
The boards aren't the only sites that have sound files and banners and flash bullshit, there are plenty of sites that do that. Are we going to complain to every site that does it? If not, why only here?
If I felt the need to go get one of these blocker things I would do it and get on with life. The LAST thing I would do is come here and cry about sound like so many others are doing today. I'm not singling out you on that comment btw, mostly a lot of others who are going on and on and on with their complaining. I'm the type that deals with it and moves on, minus the whining.
I can't say that the widespread use of these blockers will be good for business on the board in the long run though. I'd certainly like to hear Lensman's take on this issue. I have encoded my 2000+ cd collection along with hundreds of rare vinyl etc.
Half the shit I listen to is ripped vinyl.
i sit here and design for hours upon hours, a radio will not cut it becuase I don t like a damn thing on the radio and having my computer control my entertainment center has been the way I run my home for 5 years now.
i cant change my entire audio set up to surf GFY.
my computer runs audio to my entire apartment, to my main stereo in the living room and my work station.
as i said, turning off sound is not an option.

Different habits. No problem.
My playlist has only about 500 songs in it right now. I fire it up and let it play radomly about 1-2 times a week, but during that I'm almost always working on some project and not surfing, so sound banners can't bother me in the least.
I'm lucky with the radio I guess, I have a few choices for stations here that play the kind of shit I love, the classic rock, the 70's & 80's tunes etc. If one station plays the odd shit song I get up and turn it to the other station.
Plus right now I have ads running on the local radio stations for one of my mainstream sites. I get a kick out of hearing my commercial on the air.
