    Solution against annoying sound banners on GFY:

    Maxthon, formerly MyIE2. Includes a filter that enables you to block flash from loading.

          I use a thing I discovered myself.

          On the left side of my laptop, almost hidden, there's a little black wheel embeded in the case. When it turn it towards me, then no noise comes out of my speakers

                      Problem is that doing this because of one site affects all of them, right? I hate the talking shit as much as anyone else, but I don't want to have to remember to turn flash back off after I temporarily enable it to view something elsewhere...

                      It's probably worth the board guys considering that if enough people start voting with their feet like this then other GFY advertisers using flash are going to suffer.

                                  He's not losing any posters.. maybe 1 or 2, but not enough to matter.

                                  He get's paid to run them.

                                  Webmasters are more banner blind than surfers, with my volume off, I cannot honestly even name one banner up there.

                                  So, he does something to get you to look. It works, because people make multiple threads about the ones who DO make noise, and then other people go LOOK for them to see what the hell

                                                          Do you think Naughty Bank will see a single hit from me? Of course not. Programs that feel the need to annoy to catch the webmaster's attention, don't deserve neither that, nor hits/sales.

                                                          And quite frankly I don't believe in the whole "piss off, cause controversy, get your name out and then cash in" type of promotion.

                                                              I agree there's probably very few leaving GFY over them but I bet the number of people completly turned off of a sponsor first impression is quite high. I've certainly not clicked the "Fuck my pussy!" banner, but if some banner was yelling out "$100 per free signup" it might catch my attention

                                                                  Yeah I still think those banners must be aimed at surfers. Doesnt make sense to try to get affiliates by saying "I'm cumming" and "fuck that pussy" I dont think. Could be wrong, lol.

                                                                                      AST - see, more and more people go down this road. *Maybe* even Lens might realize that having his precious advertizers piss off the people that make up his community and in return make him cash through pageviews, ain't the best thing to do.

                                                                                      When more people block flash on GFY, advertizers will see less clicks from their ads, and maybe not renew their campaigns.

I haven't had flash on in months. I love it. I don't even surf the web with it on anymore. Since the majority of it out on the net is ads or some stupid graphic or slow-ass intro, I never miss it. If I run up on a site or menu that I need to see it on, I just enable it and then turn it back off. I rarely have to do that, though.

                                                                                                                                  Here's another tip- go down to your filters (little trash can on bottom) and enable all 3 of the filters (content, popup, and auto popup). You won't see ads anywhere. Turn sigs off and you're ready to go. Sooo much more enjoyable.

It's no different. It actually uses your IE and has all the exact same stuff, just tons more options. I didn't want to switch at first but I promise you'll be hooked if you try it. I had to do some stuff to my Dad's computer the other night and I got so frustrated with IE I almost downloaded MyIE2 just to use while working on it.

Why should people have to kill flash? Naughty Bank should repair the banner? lower the embedded sounds volume, and fix the mouse out.

                                                                                                                                                                                          I think sound is ok in banners? but that doesn?t mean the audio needs to be annoying. Why ?Fuck me blah hard blah?? etc. A SFX of a bank vault opening or something witty would go over a lot better.
