As a guy that spends more time with open source intelligence than messing with porn, the next few months have me quaking in my boots.

Run, don't walk, and get a copy of Imperial Hubris and leaf through that.

Anonymous wrote another book before Imperial Hubris, called Through Our Enemies' Eyes which was originally an open source manual for CIA analysts to read up on Al Qaeda. Anonymous is not a retired Fox News military analyst talking out of his ass for 10 minutes inbetween commerical breaks.

Anonymous accuses United States leaders, elites and media of being in denial about the nature of the Qaeda threat and the balance sheet on the war on terror: he argues that America must stop using the terrorist paradigm for Al Qaeda and accept "the fact" that the group is "leading a popular, worldwide, and increasingly powerful Islamic insurgency," and he asserts that United States victories against Al Qaeda have thus far been tactical ones that have failed to slow "the shift in strategic advantage toward al Qaeda."

In the course of this book, Anonymous excoriates American leaders for not having had an immediate military response planned for an event like 9/11: "None had been planned in the eleven months since the attack on the U.S.S. Cole, or in the five-plus years since bin Laden declared war" on the United States.

I am seriously expecting something, and something big, 9/11 is going to look like nothing if these guys in Washington don't stop bickering between themselves and really seriously get on the ball.

I won't be a bit suprised if it happens during the Democratic convention, but don't think because its in Boston, you are safe, they want something to slow democracy and economics to a grinding halt.
