The question shouldn't be what attracts more, but what keeps them more interested. A lot of girls will put out if you're giving them gifts, but they don't give a shit about you. You want to keep yourself interesting to the girl. Giving a gift or a compliment every now and then is fine, but if you do it too frequently, and you'll get walked all over. Mainly because (1) they feel they've got you and the challenge is gone, which is boring to a lot of girls and (2) you just transformed a positive thing into a negative. I.e. Giving a gift every now and then is unexpected and therefore positive; If you give her gifts frequently, then she comes to expect them...then the gifts are neutral and the absence of gifts is negative. Ditto for complements.
