I need to find more public domain pix.

This must be the #1 newbie question, So let me be the 1st to clarify, There's no such thing as public domain.....I repeat ALL pictures have copyright! If your using pics you don't have a license for it will come back on you at some point.

If you are just want the pictures for yourself then use a prog like newsbin wich just takes the attached pi files and not the text. Saves time by the bucketfull!

I'd have to agree with Wizzo. Don't fuck around with so called "public domain" pics.

If you do, it will just be a matter of time before you get a letter from a lawyer.

And there is something else to consider, besides copyright issues.

How can you prove the people in the pictures are of legal age? You can't, unless you are posting granny pics or something.

Why risk it? Using stuff from the newsgroups is just the kind of thing that will bring you lawyers, grief, and misery.

There are so many advertisers who will give you the legal right to use their high-quality pics in exchange for advertising for them. If you really feel you have to own your own content, check out PornAuction (http://www.pornauction.net/) for low cost, licensed pics, or join one of the many webmaster associations.

With the new administration, you really don't know what new laws will be imposed, or new regulations. By using stuff you grab from the net, you also prove the old adage about adult webmasters... Contrary to popular belief, the most successful ones are the ones who follow the law to the letter.
