Give her a gift certificate to a really nice day spa for women. Dont be cheap, let her get the whole works, massage, facial, makeover etc.. Then its off to dinner at a resturant that you have to dress to get in.
Wine before & after dinner, arrange to have the flowers delivered during desert.
Do not talk about sports, porn, old girlfriends nor ask if she "wants to fuck".
Rent a video, not porno, but a "chick flick"
that she has been wanting to see & watch it with her without making any comments about it being stupid. This is better if you can snuggle up with her in front of the fireplace while watching.

I usually do the whole candy, flowers, jewlry, dinner thing. I also wrote my wife a poem last Valentine's Day (our first together - we're still newlyweds) and she claims that was her favorite gift. I believe her because she has mentioned it several times since.

Don't worry if poetry isn't your thing...it's the thought that counts...just do someting that comes from the heart...a picnic in the park or something...spending a lot of money on a woman does not tell her you love her...it tells her you took the easy way out (but spend the money anyway...hehe).

Now, make sure you arrange for these items to be picked up at the register by her and make sure there's a note attached to each item with instructions on where to go next. When she's visited the last location to pick up the last item, that note should direct her to a nice hotel with YOU waiting naked with candles all over the room and probably a nice dinner or something cuz she'll be tired and starved from running all over the place. hehe hope this helps

you're asking what to get without telling us what she's like. getting a generic gift is never gonna get you the same points as one that's about her.

for example, a day at the spa for me would = a waste of money. my boyfriend buys me bass equipment but that probably wouldn't work for her ;-)

you could take her to her favorite place (no bitching about it!) and give her a nice piece of jewelry that fits her personality... take her somewhere amazing (there are some hotel rooms in big sur that are built in trees)...

there are no perfect "woman gifts". why not really look at what she enjoys and base what you get her on her lifestyle?
