Show me a person who says there aren't opportunities out there for people of ALL races, and I'll show you a person who hasn't got off their fucking ass and actually looked. Opportunities are EVERYWHERE, it's up to the person to go out and find them. The world isn't going to hand anything to anyone on a silver platter just because they are born a certain race or whatever, black, white, purple with pink polka dots, green argyle with fuscia hair. Those with the drive and ambition to do so succeed NO MATTER WHAT THEIR BACKGROUND is. Even if they never had a book, or had to share books, no matter WHAT if they WANT to, they can shape their lives, they can TAKE those opportunities, and they can succeed.

It is unfair because it takes into consideration race. Therefore it is not color blind. But that's exactly the intent. Unfortunately it cannot be color blind. If society was color blind, any notion of Affirmative Action policy would be purposturuous.
Has it worked, has it failed, has it had any impact at all? Has it been implemented properly? I think those are the types of questions we should be asking. If we can answer those questions honestly then we may be able to agree to scrap the idea or further it.Comment
