I agree. It's fairly common. And I definitely don't think it's the big, traumatic deal that a lot of people in this thread are making it out to be. How many women do you know that claim to be physically or emotionally scarred because their moms got their ears pierced when they were little?
I doubt it hurt. You don't have a lot of nerves in your earlobes anyway, esp as a baby. I think the younger you do it, the better. They get used to it from the beginning and the fact is, most girls do want and end up with their ears pierced.
