Whatever you get try to make it as special as possible, something with meaning, something that only a "special" mother would get.
Why in the world would you do that? Because one day she won't be around but you will at least know that while she may not have been the best of mother you tried to be the best of sons.
She might also be so stunned by your thoughtful wonderful gift she might appreciate you more.
